Amelie is initial an ally, but later, one of the main antagonists in Nexomon: Extinction, alongside Vados.

She is a guild master at the Tamers' Guild and the creator of the Greater Drakes, and Vados himself.

Although these creatures were created to protect Humanity from Tyrants, and her intentions could be perceived as good, Amelie's hatred of the creatures and extreme desire to protect Humanity leaves her the very questionable means, that could possibly put the world itself into extinction.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

She has long, wavy, black hair, with pale skin and amethyst-colored eyes behind black glasses. She wears a sleeveless violet turtleneck with a white skirt, orange-brown belt, black tights and gloves and dark magenta sleeveless jacket and boots.

Personality[]

She starts off as a kind person, trying her best to protect humanity from the attacks of the Tyrants. However, as she kept losing more cities to them, she became desperate and slipped into insanity, taking more extreme measures each time.

While her initial good intentions remain, her morality is twisted. Her objective of stopping the war between Tyrants turns into destroying all Nexomon, betraying allies and attempting to murder anyone that gets in her way. To her, the end justifies the means. She's both ruthless and cunning, managing to keep her façade up while getting rid of those who oppose her. After she's defeated, she realizes there is another way to reach her goal of ending the war thanks to the player. As a way to repent for her crimes, she locks herself in prison to stop herself from causing more harm.

Story[]

In Nexomon: Extinction[]

Amelie is the 47th head of the Tamers' Guild, leading its members to protect humanity from the Tyrant attacks. However, during the past two decades or so, these Nexomon became more hostile, pushing her to take desperate measures and driving her to the point of insanity, as she no longer wanted to just end the Tyrants' war, but to destroy all Nexomon as well.

Around fifteen years before the beginning of the adventure, she picked her best tamers to create a new weapon against the Tyrants. In the laboratory at the Drake Isles they created a new breed of Nexomon, the dragons, whose only purpose was to hunt down Tyrants. However, as all Nexomon would go mad without a king, they decided to give them one. They wired their minds to take Eurus as their king since he was unusually docile for his kind. The Guild struck a deal with Lydia, leaving her in control of both the greater drakes and her Tyrant.

Some time later, the drakes lost their mind and destroyed the lab as well as the nearby town. Lydia suspected it was provoked by the birth of a particularly powerful Tyrant, but she couldn't prove it, so the project was shut down, leaving the lab abandoned. This didn't stop Amelie, who decided to start over by creating a new type of Nexomon. This time she was opposed by the other tamers, such as Atlanta and Jin, among others. Seeing this, Amelie branded them as renegades and the Guild hunted them down for the following years. Lydia decided to remain close to Amelie's even if she also opposed the idea just to be able to keep an eye on her.

Vados Appearing

Amelie summoning Vados

The main adventure begins after all this and takes place while Amelie is still working on her latest project. As the story progresses, she organizes the ceremony for the player and their friends to join the Guild. She gives them their badges and first missions, helping them to get started and following their progress with interest for some time.

This changes when the player reaches the abandoned lab of the Drake Isles and learns from Lydia about Amelie's past and current actions. Shortly after, they face Amelie, who initially tries to deny the existence of Vados to the player and their friends, but ends up recognizing it. Losing her patience, she summons him and throws everyone out of the isles, with them surviving thanks to the player breaking the fall.

Amelie at her Lab with Vados

After this event, she disappears from the Guild for some time, joining Logan at her lab in Cadium to complete the development of Vados. The player and their friends find her there, standing in front of the tank containing him. As she faces them, she confesses that her legacy until now was only losing countless cities to the hands of Tyrants, blaming herself for the misery that humans had to face. However, she considers Vados her redemption as he will enable her to take back everything that humanity had lost over the years. Before the player can stop her, she launches Vados's tank to the surface and escapes, branding our team as renegades and getting us imprisoned when we try to follow her to Parum.

Amelie Making Vados Public

Amelie introducing Vados to the public

While the team is in prison and for some time after they leave, she's introducing Vados to the public, swaying the citizens and Guild members to her side. To prove his potential, she sends him to destroy multiple Tyrants even if she knows that in some cases there was a risk of harming nearby humans. Soon after those Tyrants are dealt with, Vados detects them again due to the player secretly resurrecting them. As he can't pinpoint their location, Amelie suspects it must be someone's doing, and starts to prepare her tamers to defend the city against any potential attacks.

As she expected, the player shows up at the Guild's tower, getting knocked out by Vados shortly after. As their friends rush to help them, Amelie reveals to them that they're a Tyrant in disguise in an attempt to separate the group from the player so Vados can finish the job. First, she connects the dragon outbreak with the player's birth as well as the multiple dragon attacks happening always around them. Even though Vados has also recognized the player as a Tyrant, their friends refuse to abandon them. Edward appears at this point and takes it from there, with Amelie leaving and only reappearing during the final fight against Vados, where she attempts to stop the player before they confront him.

After his defeat she accepts that the fate of the world is in the player's hands, but to her surprise, they revive Vados. Amelie puts the artificial Tyrant to test and confirms that she's no longer his master, causing him to have a mental breakdown and to teleport away.

Post-game[]

After the events of the main story, she decides to lock herself in the Laterian prison to pay for what she did to both the player and their brethren. However, she's still worried about Vados, who has lost his purpose now that he is no longer meant to hunt down Tyrants. With this, she asks the player to find and capture him to give him a new purpose.

Abyssals DLC (WIP)[]

We discover she had been working with Logan before and both of them had laboratories at the Precursor Valley, where they had been investigating a special breed of Nexomon, with their data stored in the CHAOS discs.

Trivia[]

  • Her Nexomon team is Noocidal, Namansi, Hainok, Feliblanqo, Tresaur and Dracon.
  • She probably obtained Dracon thanks to Xanders, after he takes him back to the Guild once we finish The Mad Dragon quest.
  • From the conversation where she shares that her legacy is made of lost cities, we get to know a bit of how much was lost under her watch:
    • Royalle City, where the Guild had a bastion. We can visit its ruins, and they look the same as the original city from Nexomon 1.
    • Solus, the city of sand and stone. This city was already severely damaged in Nexomon 1 due to Grunda's dig site being there, so it might be a rebuilt version of it that was later lost again.
    • Old Ignitia, which got completely erased. As stated by Amelie New Ignitia was built at the bottom of Grunda's Chasm, in hopes that other Tyrants would stay away from the primordial's tomb. That didn't work, seeing Mulcimer's attack.
    • Cadium fell to the hands of Zetta when he became president.
    • The Frozen Tundra still exists but it's in shambles. Some of the frozen ruins are the work of Nivalis.
  • According to Atlanta, Lobo was the previous head of the Guild and Amelie's superior.
