He participates on the Guild's entry test at the Orphanage at the beginning of the adventure, but he doesn't seem to own his own Nexomon, possibly not becoming an official tamer. Coco starts traveling with the player after this event, and doesn't leave their side for most of the story. Even as things start getting dangerous or the player takes decisions that would be morally wrong for other characters, he stays.
As the story progresses, the player and their friends find themselves fighting against Amelie, the head of the Tamers' Guild, who has created Vados to destroy all Tyrants. When she introduces him to the public, most people don't see the issue with such an idea, since he would be humanity's salvation. The player's friends initially see him as potentially dangerous if he were to lose control as it happened with the Greater Drakes during the dragon outbreak. However, after being imprisoned in Lateria and seeing that Vados seems to be accepted even by other Grandmasters, they start to question their initial opposition to Amelie. Finally, after Vados shows his power by easily defeating Petram and destroying the entire area, the player is abandoned by their friends. The last one to leave is Coco, explaining that he no longer understands why they are so insistent on opposing Amelie, who is just trying to protect Parum.
Some time after leaving the player's side, Coco is contacted by Tikala, who explains everything to him. Now that he knows the player is a Tyrant who would also be destroyed by Vados, he decides to help them by setting up the warpstones that connect Tikala's tree with the location of the fallen Tyrants' souls. This way, they can fast travel there to revive them without being tracked by the Guild. After doing this, he heads to the Hidden Village and joins the player, travelling with them again until the end of the adventure.
Post-game[]
He still travels with the player, speaking for them and making the occasional comment as always.
Abyssals DLC[]

Trivia[]
- We can unlock him as a companion. This happens automatically after we complete the main story.
- He dislikes Atlas, possibly being envious based on Coco's reactions whenever the robot proves to be useful with things he can't do.
- He speaks in place of the player because they are mute. This is stated during the Orphanage in Peril quest and Lydia highlights it again at Lateria while Coco is no longer traveling with them.
- He seems to really be into money based on some of his comments and his reactions to bribes.
- He gets a small mention during the final scene of the game, but he's misnamed as "Cocoa".
- Whenever Coco offers a choice to the player, if they choose the morally wrong option, he makes a snarky comment about their morals and goes for good one instead.
- He breaks the fourth wall frequently and usually points out stupid circumstances that are cliches in many video games.
