Summary[]
This page lists content that could be added to the wiki for those who are interested in contributing but don't know where to begin. Before you start, make sure you've checked our Style Guide. If you're completely new to Fandom wikis, the Getting Started page is also a good read.
To avoid overlapping with others when working on a specific page it's recommended to mark the sections you plan to touch with a (WIP)
. Otherwise, if a section is meant to be completed but you're not doing it, mark it with (TBD)
.
Pages and Categories[]
This is a list with some known missing pages as well as some basic ideas to fill them. Feel free to add more content as you see fit:
- Proof-reading pages and correcting typos.
- Adding more links to existing pages. For example, pages for locations (e.g. Parum City) may have trades that could use some links to the item page. Avoid linking several times to the same page from the same article. For example, if the item Meat appears twice in a page, only link it the first time.
- Creating missing character pages and completing existing ones.
- You can check the existing pages in the Characters category.
- If you create a new page, make sure to add at least some basic content (infobox, basic description, image, etc.) and the Characters category to it. Use other character pages for reference, such as Amelie (Character). Follow the name convention of adding the (Character) suffix to the page name.
- Some pages exist but only have placeholder content, such as Ellie (Character). Those are meant to be completed.
- Creating missing status pages and completing existing ones.
- You can check the existing pages in the Status Effects category. There is a separate page to unify them in Status Effects.
- If you create a new page, make sure to add at least some basic content (description, effects, skills, etc.) and the Status Effects category to it. Use other status pages for reference, such as Bind. Follow the name convention of adding the (Status) suffix to the page name.
- Some pages exist but only have partial content, such as Burn. Those are meant to be completed
- Add where to find, buy and craft Nexotraps (including elemental ones) and the crafting materials.
- Creating pages for mechanics (tiers, luring, capturing, combat, etc.). You can check the existing pages in the Mechanics category. There isn't a specific format to follow.
- Add missing type effectiveness. Check which pages of the Nexomon: Extinction Database don't have it and take the Nexomon Database entries as a base.
- Add missing translations (skills, status effects, medicine items, etc.). Take for example Frost Bite (Skill) -> In other languages section.
- Add missing data to the locations of the Netherworld region such as items, shops and wild Nexomon.
- Add content for region pages. You can check the existing regions in the Regions category. There isn't a specific format to follow, but trivia about locations within the region, types of Nexomon that appear or background images could be good. Keep in mind the screens inside each region have their own pages to avoid repetition with those.
- Creating pages for special locations (Healing Centers, Shops, Tamers' Guild, etc.). There isn't a specific format to follow but trivia, services, NPCs or images could be good.
- Creating and completing general pages (Nexomon: Extinction, Abyssals DLC, Netherworld DLC, etc.). There isn't a specific format to follow, but Nexomon (Game) can serve as a reference.
- Reviewing categories and unifying them when necessary. For example, we have Game mechanics and Mechanics, which should probably be one. Don't merge categories that add something specific, such as Items and Key Items Items, where the latter is a subcategory of the former.
- Adding categories and subcategories when needed. For example, we could have a Food Items category for things such as Strawberry Cake, Onigiri, etc.
- Adding mobile differences. Some in-game elements, such as Companions, are obtained in a different way when playing on mobile, diamonds don't exist when playing on a console/PC, etc.
- Add tiers to Nexomon: Extinction locations, both in the maps and in the database entries. Tiers are a system that limits which Nexomon appear in the wild based on how far the player has progressed in the story.
Media[]
If you have the PC game files but you don't know how to extract them, refer to the video in this comment or contact User:MissKolala. Please, don't contact for images that are already in the wiki.
- Uploading missing images for Nexomon 1 Companions.
- Uploading images for the cosmic variants of Nexomon.
- Uploading missing character images, especially those that appear in the DLCs from both Nexomon 1 and Nexomon: Extinction (Ulrich, the Abyssals' portraits, etc.).
Templates[]
Working with templates requires some knowledge about them. To learn more about those, check our Templates Guide or visit Fandom's Guides.
- Fixing infoboxes for mobile devices. Go to Non-portable infoboxes to check the broken ones. It is unknown if there are others besides those.
- Fix location infobox so it shows the region image for Nexomon: Extinction locations (e.g. Home Route from Nexomon 1 vs. Cadium Center from Nexomon: Extinction).
- Documenting and classifying templates. Take the WildNexomonEx/entry template for example.
- Removing unused templates. Some of our templates seem oddly specific to one skill (not the full list), such as the Fire Will one. Review them as well as other templates and remove those that aren't used in any pages.
- Create a template for shop items. Make sure the price is optional since Nexomon: Extinction doesn't have a fixed price.
