Lydia is a renegade, being in possession of the Tyrant of Wind Eurus as well as all of the Greater Drakes. However, even though she's a renegade, she's in good terms with Amelie and the Guild due to some sort of deal she's been offered.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

She dresses in samurai clothing, complemented with a visor that hides her eyes and contrasts with the rest of her otherwise traditional appearance. She has pink hair, long enough to reach at least below her waist and tied up in a high pony tail. She also carries a katana, which she often uses in battle rather than recurring to her Tyrant or dragons.

Personality[]

Even though she has been branded as a Renegade for owning a Tyrant, her intentions have always been noble. She's very level-headed and remains calm no matter the situation, as shown by the way in which she always finds alternatives every time that things don't go according to plan. She can be aggressive when the situation calls for it, always ready to jump into a fight if it's the only choice to protect humanity. Even though she can control Eurus and the Greater Drakes, she hasn't let this power corrupt her, to the point that she prefers to fight with her own strength rather than recurring to them.

Story[]

In Nexomon: Extinction[]

We meet her for the first time in New Ignitia, right after we fight Jin and his Tyrant Mulcimer. As he's about to flood the city with lava, she appears and defeats him before he has the chance to do so. She does this without the help of any Nexomon, sending him flying out for the city with her ability to control wind.

After that, she speaks to us, noticing we're the people that her drakes have been attacking recently. To show us that they aren't a threat to humans, she invites us to her village at the Drake Isles, giving us the Drake Sigil.

Lydia Appearing

First appearance

We meet her again at the Drake Isles while we're being accompanied by Leo to investigate the ruins of a lab abandoned by the Guild. Right after greeting us, she warns us that we're being followed. The Nexolords make an appearance and after a brief fight against us to try to steal our Tyrant egg, she intervenes and defeats them without using any Nexomon once again. Before leaving, she warns us about how much of a bad idea is to hatch a Tyrant, as we might not get the same deal with the Guild that she has.

After we find Eurus blocking the entrance to the abandoned lab, we decide to go speak to her first so she lets us enter. We find her heading east with some of the Drake Masters. One of her dragons has gone mad and they're trying to get a hold of it. After they fail, Xanders shows up and takes it from there.

Once we've helped him to deal with the dragon he leaves, and we head back to the lab entrance to try to get permission from Lydia now that she owes us. She agrees to it but only if we prove to be worthy of her trust, sending us to Nadine's Shrine to gain the power of wind and then fighting against us.

Lydia with Eurus

About to fight us before entering the lab

Having earned her trust, we enter the lab, where she explains to us that all the dragons were created there by the Guild under Amelie's supervision. In order to control them, their minds were wired to consider Eurus as the King of Monsters, which is why they don't attack him. And with him being a strangely calm Tyrant, this allows her to control both him and the Greater Drakes. However, fifteen years ago a strange event happened that make her lose control of her drakes, leading to the destruction of the lab and the town south of her village. She suspected it could have been the presence of an extremely powerful Tyrant, but could never prove it. This made the dragons to be considered a failed experiment.

After finishing her explanation, she reveals to us Amelie's plan to create Vados and her intention to prevent that from happening, seeing how the creation of the drakes went. But as soon as she reveals this, we hear a loud noise and, after getting to the source, we're attacked by Amelie and Vados.

Vados Appearing

Vados attacking us at the lab

After Lydia is defeated by the former, the latter throws us out of the isles. With the ability to control wind, we manage to break the fall and survive. We wake up in the Guild's base at the Frozen Tundra, where Lydia proposes to split up to try to find Amelie's whereabouts.

The next time we hear about her is from Nadine, who delivers the message of going to the Orphanage to meet Lydia. We find her there alongside our mentor, Eliza, Ross and Nora. She uses her psychic abilities to find Amelie in Cadium and we head there, where we confront her at her lab. However, she manages to flee with Vados and we get captured by the Guild when we try to go after her. Being branded as renegades, we're imprisoned in Lateria, but manage to escape and are then pardoned by Edward.

Shortly after leaving the prison, we join the Laterians in fighting Petram before Vados gets to him. Lydia reaches the area with Ross and Nora only to find the crater left from Vados's attack. Having witnessed his power, out friends abandon us, with the renegade and Atlas being the only ones staying on our side.

We search and find her again in Lateria once we decide to use Atlas's radar for locating other Tyrants that might join us against Vados. She leads us to the highest spot in the Drake Isles to use the radar. But once Atlas detects four Tyrants and those get annihilated seconds later, she loses all her confidence and gives up.

Renegade Allies

Lobo and the Renegades join us

We don't see her until we've resurrected all the Tyrants and get back to Tikala's tree, where Lobo shows up with the renegades as our new allies. We then head to the Cursed Tower to find a way to lure Vados out of Parum City. Lydia proposes to use an airship to crash it against him, dragging him to a far away spot where the Tyrants can ambush him.

Once we've become a grandmaster to get the airship, we meet her again at the Orphanage, accompanied by the rest of our allies. She tells us that we must distract Vados long enough for the airship to reach his location. Although she's not with us when facing Vados before and during the ship's appearance, she's present after it crashes in a far away land, cheering for us and giving us tips during the final fight.

Post-game[]

Lydia with Eurus in the Bridge

Lydia and Eurus waiting for us

Once we've defeated Vados, we appear at the Guild's Tower. Lydia is there, waiting to talk to us about the greater drakes. She reminds us that her dragons only consider Eurus as their king and will take any other Tyrant (including us) as a threat that they will hunt down. The only way to be safe is by finding and capturing each of them. After this, she tells us to gather a tribute for each of the drakes and find the locations from where they can be summoned, without revealing them so as not to spoil the fun.

Abyssals DLC[]

Once we've unlocked the Precursor Valley location, she waits with Eurus at the outskirts bridge to fly us there since there are no warpstones set up. We will find her there, helping the other tamers to find the Abyssal Tyrants.
